    Under the general supervision of the Program Representative (PR) III (Supervisor), the Program Representative II (Specialist), performs the full range of duties enforcing the laws and regulations of the Automotive Repair Act and the Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance Program. The PR II Lead is a member of the Audits and Roadsides Branch, acts as a lead, and is responsible for performing gas analyzer audit activities, monitoring and conducting government and business fleet inspections, and conducting roadside emission inspections. The PR II will be required to frequently travel throughout California involving overnight stays.

    Working Conditions

    The incumbent works 40 hours a week in a field or office setting. The office setting has artificial light and temperature control. Daily access to and use of a personal computer and telephone is essential. Sitting and standing requirements in the office are consistent with office work. When performing field activities, the incumbent may spend approximately 80% of time per week in an outdoor field environment with varying weather conditions and temperatures, which includes sitting/driving and walking.

  • The position(s) require(s) Medical Clearance prior to being hired.
  • Applicants must possess a valid California driver license and a good driving record. Must pass a medical examination to ensure fitness. Applicants shall have a work record clear of revocation or suspension of departmental-issued licenses for Lamp Installer/Adjuster, Brake Installer/Adjuster, Smog Technician, and or Smog Inspector.
