    Position Responsibilities:

    • Provide individual, small group, and whole-group instruction
    • Monitor student progress academically and behaviorally
    • Maintain a safe learning environment and support students with health needs
    • Design curriculum, behavior plans, and teaching strategies
    • Use data to address challenges effectively
    • Communicate with parents/guardians regularly
    • Evaluate student progress and set goals
    • Prepare educational records and reports
    • Collaborate with colleagues and provide services
    • Attend meetings and training sessions as necessary

    Qualifications:

    • Valid Michigan certificate with a Special Education endorsement

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Experience in urban education with diverse populations
    • Work with children with disabilities and challenging behaviors
    • Develop interventions and understanding of special education law
    • Effective communication and relationship-building skills

    Salary:

    • $50,000 - $82,010 based on Teacher Salary Schedule
    • Signing bonus up to $1,500
    • Special Education Stipend up to $3,000

    Contract:

    • 188 Day Calendar
