    Description

    This position is for the academic year starting on August 5th, 2024.

    *Certified Educators starting at $56,000

    *Non-Certified Educators starting at $53,500

    Primary Goal: Provide students with tailored intervention learning activities in the field of math to support their overall growth in intellectual, emotional, physical, and social aspects. Help students acquire the skills needed to thrive in society.

    Requirements:

    Education/Certification:

    • Hold a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university
    • Possess a valid Texas teaching certificate for math, preferably grades 4-8
    • Demonstrate proficiency in the area of mathematics

    Special Knowledge/Skills:

    • Proficient in Mathematics
    • Familiarity with curriculum, teaching methodologies, and intervention techniques
    • Able to effectively teach and manage student behavior
    • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

    Experience:

    Minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience is desirable.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Instructional Approaches

    1. Implement lesson plans in alignment with the district's curriculum, interventions, and provide documented proof of preparation. Adapt lessons to cater to individual student needs.

    2. Utilize suitable instructional strategies, materials, and technology considering students' learning styles and requirements. Present subject matter following the guidelines set by the Texas Education Agency and school policies.

    3. Analyze student assessment data to plan targeted small-group intervention activities.

    4. Collaborate with general education math teachers and special education instructors to adjust curricula for students with special needs as per Individual Education Plans (IEP).

    5. Work with colleagues to establish instructional objectives and methods as per district standards.

    Student Progress and Development

    6. Conduct regular assessments to evaluate student achievement formally and informally.

    7. Take on extracurricular responsibilities when assigned and supervise approved activities outside the regular curriculum.

    8. Serve as a positive role model for students and actively support the school district's mission.

    Classroom Management and Setup

    9. Create an engaging classroom environment conducive to learning and suitable for students' development.

    10. Manage student behavior following the Student Code of Conduct and school rules.

    11. Ensure the safety of students, equipment, and facilities by taking necessary precautions.

    12. Assist in selecting appropriate instructional materials.

    13. Maintain all necessary reports, records, and documents.

    Communication

    14. Establish and sustain professional relationships and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and the community.

    Professional Development

    15. Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance job-related skills.

    16. Adhere to state, district, and school policies for educators.

    17. Attend faculty meetings and contribute to staff committees as necessary.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    18. Fulfill any other duties delegated by the supervisor.

    Supervisory Role:

    Oversee the tasks of assigned instructional aide(s).

    Mental and Physical Demands/Work Environment:

    Tools/Equipment Used: Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment; [P.E. teachers: automated external defibrillator (AED)]

    Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

    Motion: Frequent walking Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may lift and move textbooks and classroom equipment

    Environment: Work inside, may work outside; regular exposure to noise

    Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours.
