The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs, dedicated to making a difference in the lives of Wisconsin veterans, is currently seeking multiple part-time Weekend Certified Nursing Assistants for the Wisconsin Veterans Home at Union Grove (WVHUG). Join our quality care team and contribute to providing comfort, support, and professional healthcare services to elderly or disabled Wisconsin veterans and their spouses.

Position Summary

- Weekend Certified Nursing Assistants play a crucial role in providing direct and indirect patient care at WVHUG, adhering to the highest standards of nursing practice and regulations.
- Responsibilities include following written care plans to support the needs of WVHUG members, with a focus on maintaining members' functional levels.
- CNAs collaborate closely with licensed nursing staff, under the supervision of a Nursing Supervisor.

Salary Information

- Starting pay ranging from $24.56 to $27.60 per hour, based on state service experience. Additional compensation available for various shifts.
- Eligible positions offer a competitive benefits package.
- New hires can qualify for a $2000 sign-on bonus.
- Please note that Weekend Certified Nursing Assistant positions do not receive personal holidays but are compensated at a higher rate for work on legal holidays.

Job Details

- Weekend CNAs work a designated shift pattern over Sundays, Fridays, and Saturdays, with a weekly commitment of 24 to 36 hours.
- Shifts can run up to 12 hours.
- Core Shift: PM 2nd Shift (2:30 pm to 11:00 pm)
- Job tasks may involve assisting with patient mobility, performing assessments, and ensuring hygiene standards.
- Employment is subject to passing a pre-employment TB test and a criminal background check.
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory for all staff members.

Qualifications

Candidates must hold certification or eligibility for certification as a Wisconsin Nurse Aide for federally-certified nursing home work as a CNA.
