    The Opportunity

    Under the direction of the Supervisor, Media Operations, you will perform responsibilities to provide Media Operations and Network Operation support to live and off-line broadcasts. You will lead and oversee the Media Operations team and ensure the accurate and successful operation of transmission output on all platforms and streams. It is the Team's responsibility to ensure the smooth delivery of video and other assets to all interactive and media platforms, ensuring compliance with contracted technical specifications and regulatory technical standards. You will also be the liaise with all areas of the business, and to negotiate and agree suitable responses to incidents to ensure all our service levels are met. You will be empowered to make decisions relating to emergencies on their own authority and to deputize for the Manager, Media Operations to support process improvement. You will be based onsite in West Chester, PA.

    Your Impact

  • Oversee the daily shift operation of the Media Operations department ensuring all technical and operational checks and tasks are carried out.
  • To lead the Media Operations Technicians to maintain continuity of all media outputs.
  • Establish relationships with other departments to gain full understanding of regular and ad hoc projects which impact Media Operations and ensure that expectations are realistic and communicated both ways.
  • Order broadcasting equipment repair parts.
  • Track and reports on metrics and SLAs to resolve recurring issues.
  • Organize and assign shifts to ensure 24/7 shift coverage.
  • Ensure that comprehensive monitoring and reporting on all services are administered within the Media Operations Center.
  • Develop written standard operating procedures and troubleshooting methods for Media Operations and other departments, ensuring emergency recovery procedures are in place for all important systems.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable procedures and communicate with other departments by maintaining discrepancy logs and equipment incident reports and auditing these documents to identify areas where performance or process needs improvements.
  • Have the expertise to implement nearly all procedures independently.
  • Report equipment functionality by communicating with the Media Operations Manager and the Engineering team, documenting and tracking problems in the maintenance database.
  • Ensure all Media Operations Technicians are trained on all equipment and can operate the station within prescribed requirements by developing training procedures and providing group and individual training sessions.
  • Make sure Media Operations Technician development requirements and make recommendations to the Media Operations Manager to develop potential and to meet QVC's requirements.
  • Certifies the efficient operation of the Media Operations function by evaluating the performance of Media Operations Technicians, providing guidance.
  • Provide direction, supervise and establish goals for direct reports.
  • Perform troubleshooting on more complex issues involving both analogue and digital video and audio signals, control room systems, Media Operations systems, still store, play out, graphics, cameras, robotics, switchers and routers.What You Bring

    Minimum Education:

  • College Degree, Technical school, Military training or equivalent combination of training and experience required.Minimum Experience:

  • Three to five years of recent leadership experience in engineering, media operations or network operations in a television broadcast environment.
  • Must have experience trouble-shooting broadcast equipment and systems and help react quickly to important situations that occur in live broadcast situations.
  • Experience with component level troubleshooting and state of the art broadcast equipment, systems design and installations is required.
  • Understanding of the television production processes, broadcast operations and technical production requirements.#LI-LM2
