Title: Maintenance Data Specialist
Duration: 12 months (Possible Extension)
Location: Oceanside, CA
Description:
Manage MRO Master Data requests, request include but are not limited to; Part creation/change, Item
Specifications and Bills of Material (BOM). Process request in accordance with current quality standards and
business processes. Perform technical review and verification of MRO Master Data requests
Job Responsibilities
● Reconcile requested materials against current materials in inventory using SAP and associated
databases for new part creation.
● Work with the original equipment manufacturer/vendor to document material specifications for new
part entry and procurement specification creation.
● Identify replacements materials for items deemed obsolete based on current technical material
specifications.
● Walk down mechanical systems using P&ID's identifying components and replacement parts.
● Evaluate requests and assess parts for use on equipment/systems prior to putting on BOM. Prepare
complete BOMs for equipment and systems as required.
● Manage parts and BOM request required to support site Engineering Projects
● Initiate Functional Location and Equipment request as required in support of Bill of Material (BOM)
creation / development.
● Update CMMS with other maintenance master data requests
● Coordinate and Collaborate with GNE Regional MRO Master Data Team
● Support and periodically conduct spare parts audits
● Support Change Record, CAPA, and Discrepancy for material master data related activities
● Support like-for-like assessments
● Support timely completion of work orders for master data updates
Education: AS/BS degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in related field
Experience (may vary depending on site size/scope): Minimum of 4 years of maintenance or
engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
● Ability to identify industrial mechanical components (pumps, motors, belts, actuators, bearings,
gaskets, seals, etc.) and instrumentation (flow meters, conductivity/resistivity meters, RTD/temp
sensors, transmitters, interface modules, etc.) in the field
● Ability to interpret technical specifications of components, manufacturer and vendor recommendations
● Understand nomenclature for industrial parts and equipment as indicated on Piping and Instrument
Drawings (P&IDs)
Good understanding and ability to comply with industry standards and cGMP requirements
● Proficiency with computers and applications such as Microsoft Excel, Google Tools and SAP
● Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills .
● Exceptional organization, time management, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and
in a team environment.
● Must be self-motivated / results driven with a strong sense of accountability.
