    The Opportunity

    The GRID Alternatives North Valley Development Coordinator reports to the Development Manager and works collaboratively with the Development team to support the growth of GRID North Valleys grant development and donor base and assists with the administration of multi-year government, foundation, and corporate awards for the benefit of the environmental justice communities in the region.

    Job duties:

    • Support the conceptualization, development, and implementation of innovative fundraising campaigns designed to engage individuals, foundations, and corporate social responsibility-focused programs in philanthropic giving to GRID Alternatives.
    • Collaborate with the Development Manager to prospect, develop philanthropic relationships, and steward corporate, foundation, and individual donors for annual giving and, membership giving
    • Provide administrative support with donor engagement, grant management, and coordination of fundraising programs
    • Manage donor acknowledgment and donation tracking using our Salesforce CRM database
    • Support the development of fundraising communications pieces
    • Support the planning and execution of fundraising and other events
    • Represent the organization to partners, potential donors, funders, sponsors, and the general community, including planning and participation in corporate-sponsored volunteer events

    What you need to bring to this role?

    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills (ability to represent GRID Alternatives with prospective funders and donors)
    • Conduct work with great attention to detail, time management skills, and demonstrated analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to provide administrative and compliance support for post-award management of government, foundation, and corporate awards, including timely submission of narrative reports, and budget and expense tracking.
    • Engage with confidential and sensitive information of a broad scope related to donor engagement and grant funding
    • Strong and broad computer skills, ideally including Salesforce, Google apps, Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and Asana for task management
    • Strong desire to work with/in diverse communities, and the ability to both work independently and collaboratively conduct work in a friendly and professional manner with people from diverse backgrounds.
    • Must be able to advance the organization's equity, inclusion, and diversity work and understand that this can only be achieved within a framework of social, economic, and environmental justice.

    It would be great if you also had

    • Experience with, passion for, and/of understanding of renewable energy, affordable housing, workforce development, the environment/environmental justice, or just generally grounded in making the world a better place
    • Experience with fundraising and/or nonprofit development
    • Experience with graphic design, photography and/or videography
    • Desire to grow in a development, marketing, or public relations career
    • Experience using multi-media and social media for development and fundraising
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish

    *Hired CA candidates must be able to pass a screening for drugs that are illegal in the state of California, including: amphetamine, cocaine metabolite, opiates, and PCP.

    Where you will sit & the places you may go...

    This is a hybrid position, with regular travel to the GRID office in Sacramento and project locations in San Joaquin County. In addition, the Development Coordinator will occasionally be required to do early-morning, day-time, or overnight travel to job sites and meetings with partners throughout the North Valley region, as well as to organizational trainings and retreats as needed (up to 25%). Availability to work nights and weekends required for special events.

    GRID Alternatives may provide vehicles for work travel and/or travel reimbursement for personal vehicle use. In this instance, applicants must hold a valid drivers license and have a good driving record.

    This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Hourly pay commensurate with experience within the pay band of $25-$31/hr plus the benefits below.
