    This position is responsible for preparing civil estimates for both Public Works Projects as well as Private Development Projects. A Senior Estimator possesses a strong ability to prepare complete estimates for self-performing grading, paving, wet utilities and/or concrete, as well complete estimates for general contracting opportunities in Design-Bid
    • Build, CMAR and JOC.

    DCS's office is conveniently located in Chandler, AZ off Germann Rd and Arizona Ave. Our office hours are 7am-4pm Monday

    Key Responsibilities:
    Review project plans, requirements, and specifications to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project and develop scope of work, labor, and equipment costsPrepare accurate quantity take-offs and pricing of scope through self-perform production-based estimate or unit price estimatingSet up bids into InEight softwareReview proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents for estimatesUnderstand and interpret project plans and specificationsPrepare material lists for assigned bidsSolicit quotes from subcontractors and suppliers and maintains correspondenceAnalyze and input quotes in an organized mannerAssist the Estimating team with tasks that relate to preparing estimatesMeet all deadlines with necessary documentationParticipate in on-going estimating trainingTrain and mentor other estimating staffLead estimating team on assigned bids, projects and/or tasks, delegates responsibilities as neededHelps development and implement estimating practices, tutorials, and guidesPerform other duties as assignedEducation and

    Experience Required:

    Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or equivalent technical training and/or experience8+ years of experience in estimating heavy civil projects including but not limited to grading, paving, concrete, and wet utilities with a self-performing general contractorProficiency in using Microsoft Office programs; Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

    Experience using InEight, HeavyBid, On-Screen Take off, and Agtek or similar estimating softwareExtensive knowledge of construction means and methods, costs and engineering principlesSkills and Attributes Necessary:
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong communication skills, both written and verbalStrong attention to detail and high level of accuracyStrong organizational skillsStrong time management and prioritization skills to meet strict deadlinesPositive attitude and team playerKnowledge of crew configurations and labor productionsUnderstanding of estimating techniques, cost control, subcontractor solicitation, and material specificationsUnderstanding and knowledge of municipal specifications and detailsProficient computer skillsKnowledge of project delivery methods such as Design-Bid
    • Build, Design-Bid, Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) and Job Order Contracts (JOC)Knowledge of Arizona heavy civil market a plusPosition includes competitive salary, benefits, company vehicle & fuel card.
