    About the Role:

    We are seeking an experienced Database Engineering Manager who is passionate about leveraging cutting-edge cloud technologies. Reporting to the Engineering Manager of Data Infrastructure, you will be a leader within our organization, you will be instrumental in driving innovation, efficiency, and scalability in our database engineering practices across the company.

    You Will:

    • Lead and mentor a team of experienced database engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
    • Design and implement transactional database solutions utilizing AWS services, with a focus on RDS and DynamoDB.
    • Deliver automation initiatives using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, and AWS Lambda to streamline database provisioning, scaling, and maintenance.
    • Stay abreast of emerging trends in Cloud and AWS database technologies, assessing their applicability to enhance our database infrastructure.
    • Develop and implement best practices for database security, performance optimization, and disaster recovery aligning to industry standards.
    • Inspire creativity and embrace new technologies to improve operational efficiency.

    You Have:

    • 1+ years experience managing and leading a team of database engineers.
    • Extensive hands-on experience with AWS database services, including RDS and DynamoDB.
    • Strong proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) principles and automation tools.
    • Deep understanding of database performance tuning, optimization, and scalability.
    • AWS certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Database - Specialty.

    Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $180,000-$225,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
