    Description

    This position is for the upcoming school year with an expected start date of August 5th, 2024.

    Certified Teachers starting at $68,000*

    Non-Certified Teachers starting at $55,500*

    *Certified compensation includes a $5,000 TEA Certified Math Teacher bonus along with a $5,000 Bilingual Certification incentive. All starting salaries include a $2,000 STAAR Teacher bonus.

    The goal of ILTexas is to equip students for significant leadership roles in the global community by focusing on servant leadership, mastering the English, Spanish, and Chinese languages, and enhancing the mind, body, and character.

    Primary Objective:

    Deliver appropriate learning activities and experiences in the assigned core academic subject area to help students reach their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social development. Help students acquire the competencies and skills needed to succeed in society.

    Requirements:

    Education/Certification:

    Bachelor's degree from a reputable university

    Valid Texas teaching certificate with necessary endorsements or training for the assigned subject and level-preferred

    Demonstrated proficiency in the assigned core academic subject area

    Special Knowledge/Skills:

    Understanding of the assigned core academic subject

    Knowledge of curriculum and teaching methods

    Capability to teach students and manage their conduct

    Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities

    Experience:

    One-year student teaching or approved internship is preferred

    Main Responsibilities and Tasks:

    Teaching Strategies

    1. Create and implement lesson plans that meet the district's curriculum requirements and provide written proof of preparation as needed. Develop lessons that account for variations in individual student needs.

    2. Design and utilize appropriate instructional strategies, activities, materials, technology, and equipment that consider the learning styles and requirements of the assigned students and present the subject matter following Texas Education Agency guidelines, board policies, and administrative rules.

    3. Assess student learning styles continuously and use the outcomes to plan instructional activities.

    4. Collaborate with special education teachers to adjust curricula when necessary for special education students based on Individual Education Plans (IEP).

    5. Work with other staff members to set instructional goals, objectives, and methods in line with district standards.

    6. Organize and assign tasks to instructional aide(s) and volunteer(s) and supervise their completion.

    Student Progress and Development

    7. Carry out ongoing assessments of student performance through formal and informal evaluations.

    8. Take on responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned. Sponsor external activities approved by the campus principal.

    9. Serve as a positive role model for students and uphold the school district's mission.

    Classroom Control and Arrangement

    10. Establish a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning and suitable for the physical, social, and emotional growth of students.

    11. Manage student behavior in compliance with the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.

    12. Take all necessary precautions to safeguard students, equipment, materials, and facilities.

    13. Assist in the selection of books, equipment, and other teaching materials.

    14. Organize, update, and maintain all necessary reports, records, and documents.

    Communication

    15. Establish and maintain professional relationships and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.

    Professional Development and Growth

    16. Engage in professional development activities to enhance job-related skills.

    17. Adhere to state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.

    18. Attend and actively participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    19. Fulfill any other tasks as delegated by your immediate supervisor.

    Supervisory Duties:

    Direct the activities of assigned instructional aide(s).

    Mental/Physical Demands and Environment:

    Tools/Equipment Utilized: Personal computer and accessories; standard teaching equipment; [P.E. instructors: automated external defibrillator (AED)]

    Physical Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

    Movement: Regular walking

    Lifting: Routine light lifting and carrying (under 15 pounds); may move textbooks and classroom equipment

    Environment: Work indoors, potential for outdoor work; regular exposure to noise

    Mental Demands: Maintain composure under pressure; work extended or irregular hours
