    Reports To: SVP, Development, Marketing & Communications

    General Purpose:.

    Reporting to the SVP, Development, Marketing, and Communications, and working closely with key internal and external stakeholders. The Marketing & Communications Manager is a new role in Goodwill's Development, Marketing, and Communications department. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and results-driven storyteller passionate about sustainability and bulldozing barriers to employment to join a growing team to amplify Goodwill NYNJ's Double Impact mission.

    The successful candidate will be a highly organized, results-driven communicator with excellent written and verbal communications skills excited about maximizing the existing process and creating new strategies to reach target audiences to tell Goodwill NYNJ's story. The Marketing & Communications Manager will bring both creative vision and data driven lens to communications in support of the organization's strategic goals. The person in this role will work closely with a passionate Marketing, Development, and Communications team, internal stakeholders from across the organization including Mission and Donated Retail Goods, and will supervise a Marketing & Communications Coordinator.

    Essential Functions:

    • Work closely with internal teams across Goodwill NYNJ to develop and implement communications and marketing strategies in support of organizational goals
    • Oversee social media communications
    • Develop and implement a social media calendar to execute effective social media and marketing strategies across a variety of web based and digital platforms
    • Utilize social media channels to engage with and amplify Goodwill NYNJ's partners and key stakeholders and to continuously develop Goodwill NYNJ's thought leadership
    • Oversee the development of clear, concise, visually appealing, and impactful social media content
    • Develop and implement effective social media and digital marketing campaigns
    • Oversee paid and organic social media strategy
    • Regularly analyze data to inform leadership and update strategies
    • Manage relationship with website consultant to ensure website content is up-to-date, accurate, and meets the needs of Goodwill NYNY's audiences
    • Oversee email communications and marketing
    • Draft and provide final review of all e-mail content
    • Oversee email audience lists, ensuring lists are up to date and accurately segmented
    • Liaise with Donated Retail Goods team to manage retail marketing needs
    • Oversee the development and distribution of both on-going and ad hoc retail collateral
    • Manage the design process and installation of fleetwide brand campaigns, such as the annual refresh of window signage and out-of-home advertising.
    • Serve as marketing lead for new store launches, to include development and installation of on-site graphics, external signage, and local awareness campaigns.
    • Connect with vendors when appropriate
    • Regularly review, analyze and report on data analytics including ROI on marketing investments, trends in shopper feedback, and other key data points
    • Manage development of print and digital content for external audiences including current and prospective funders, donors, community partners, retail shoppers, and program participants.
    • Implement systems to manage flow of requests from internal stakeholders for collateral needs
    • Ensure all collateral is edited for clarity and brand adherence
    • Oversee project and budget tracker against goals and annual budget estimates
    • Manage portfolio of vendors & subscriptions; source and price vendors to ensure prudent spending; serve as primary contact between vendors
    • Manage and provide support across other projects as needed

    Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:

    • 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit or retail marketing and communications
    • Exceptional storytelling skills
    • Demonstrated success utilizing print, digital, and social communications channels in support of broader goals; ability to collect, analyze, and apply data to drive strategy
    • Demonstrated experience with online marketing, social media, and email marketing platforms
    • Ability to communicate Goodwill NYNJ's double impact mission across print and digital channels
    • Demonstrated superb written and verbal skills; ability to create and edit concise written content
    • Strong organizational skills, collaborative, professional, and kind attitude, attention to detail, and ability to maintain high-quality work in a dynamic and rapid-response environment.
    • Ability to manage competing priorities
    • Experience managing external vendors
    • Demonstrated enthusiasm for Goodwill's mission
