Job Title: Machinist III at Bowhead

Responsibilities:

• Fabricate and/or modify unique and precision items for Army Research Laboratory Contracts programs
• Produce ballistic testing projectiles, armor test samples, test fixtures, and more
• Work with very close tolerances and efficiently operate Mazak machine mills and lathes
• Independently manufacture tooling, jigs, and fixtures as needed
• Operate various machinery including CNC mills, lathes, drill presses, and grinders
• Read and interpret technical drawings, set up machine tools, and assemble components
• Recommend process improvements and fabricate specialized tooling
• Provide guidance to Engineers and Machinists
• Assist in design modifications and compile relevant data
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Proficient in generating machine codes and operating CNC mill and lathe
• Skilled in Manual Machining and welding techniques
• Capable of shop math skills and interpreting customer instructions
• Experience with SolidCam Software and Microsoft Office suite
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be able to obtain and maintain necessary certifications

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Perform occasional twisting, bending, and squatting

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be eligible to obtain a Secret level security clearance. US Citizenship is required.
