- Apply a range of strategies and scaffolds to support small groups of students' reading development, particularly for students who require extra support to reach grade level benchmarks

Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will possess at least 3-5 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor's degree, as well as experience implementing science of reading research. Candidates should be motivated to stay informed about best practices in supporting elementary and middle school literacy. Experience with the Orton Gillingham, Lindamood-Bell, and the Wilson Fundations program, or a willingness to be trained in these approaches is ideal.

Description
The Stanley Clark School seeks an experienced, reflective, and collaborative part-time Reading Specialist for the school year who is motivated to work closely with students to support children's growth in reading. Candidates should be instructional experts in the teaching of reading and have a passion for remediating literacy skills while encouraging a growth mindset in students who may need extra practice with reading skills. Ideal candidates will utilize research-informed teaching practices according to the science of reading and feel confident designing engaging learning opportunities centered around the development of foundational literacy skills. This 10-month role is designed for 25-28 hours per week, likely working between 7:30am-1pm Monday through Friday.
