    Description

    Job Title: Sous Chef

    Welcome to our team! We are looking for a skilled Sous Chef to join our Hospitality Food and Beverage department at our company. As a Sous Chef, you will be reporting to the Executive Chef and will be responsible for overseeing all food-related activities in our restaurant, providing support to other culinary areas as needed.

    SUMMARY

    The Sous Chef role requires the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in the culinary arts is crucial for success in this position.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Supervision of kitchen staff to ensure quality and efficiency
    • Maintaining kitchen sanitation standards
    • Managing inventory and ordering supplies
    • Ensuring adherence to recipes and specifications
    • Coordinating meal service to meet customer expectations
    • Creating employee schedules
    • Overseeing sanitation procedures
    • Assisting with purchasing requirements

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Sous Chef will assist in hiring, supervising, and training BOH culinary and support staff. They will also supervise Special Event staff, ensuring operations align with organizational policies.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    To excel in this role, candidates should have a degree in Hospitality Management or a related field, along with substantial F&B management experience. Effective communication and leadership skills are essential.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking to effectively interact with customers and employees is required.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Basic math skills for inventory and financial tasks are necessary.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are vital for addressing operational challenges.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSE, REGISTRATIONS

    Candidates with a Culinary Degree and relevant certifications will be preferred.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    The role involves physical activities such as standing, walking, lifting, and balancing.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Working conditions may include exposure to various hazards, requiring caution and compliance with safety protocols.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    The Sous Chef position may involve non-standard working hours, including holidays and evenings based on business needs.
