    Astranis is on a mission to bridge the digital divide by connecting the four billion people worldwide who currently lack internet access.

    We're doing this by building the next generation of smaller, more cost-effective spacecraft to bring the world online.

    As a team, we've launched two satellites into orbit, signed ten commercial deals worth over $1 billion in revenue, raised over $500 million from top global investors, and recruited a team of over 300 world-class engineers.

    We all work out of our (legendary) San Francisco office, which was once used to build ships during the World Wars.

    Our satellites, which operate from geostationary orbit (GEO), weigh only 400 kg and utilize a proprietary software-defined radio payload.

    Apply and join us on our journey towards global connectivityElectronics Manufacturing Team LeadAs our Electronics Manufacturing Team Lead, you will be responsible for the manufacturing and assembly of our electronics components, both externally and internally.

    As a team leader you will oversee the full manufacturing flow:
    safety, quality, materials, processes, and schedule

    Role:
    Hire, develop, and lead a team of engineers and technicians to manufacture electronics hardware for Astranis spacecraft and their sub-assembliesManage the internal builds of all electronics assemblies (circuit boards, cable assemblies, electromechanical, and more)

    Work closely with external vendors and contract manufacturers to ensure high quality buildsStand up and implement cross-functional business processes for both internal flight hardware builds as well as R+D supportWork closely with and consistently provide feedback to responsible design engineers, production engineers, supply chain, and other teams to drive design and process improvements in order to improve product reliability and yieldCreate and enforce a culture of safety and quality throughout the workplaceAssure adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirementsSupport in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional teammates to our rapidly-growing teamDuties include people management, program management, delegation, team buildingRequirements:
    B.S. in engineering or similar technical field5+ years of professional experience with fast-paced product design cyclesDemonstrated ability to design and build processes from scratchDemonstrated ability to build strong teams; experience with effectively managing teams and communicating clearly with other disciplinesExperience working in at least one of: printed circuit board manufacturing, cable assembly manufacturing, unit/component manufacturing, or similar manufacturing environmentStrong knowledge of inventory control practices, manufacturing planning, and capacity modelingStrong design-for-manufacturing and design-for-test intuition and skillsetAble to communicate and summarize dense technical topics to large audiencesMust be able to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic, and high visibility operation and work well in a team environmentUS Citizenship or Green CardBonus:Experience working in low-volume manufacturingExperience managing both engineers and techniciansFamiliarity with aerospace quality and manufacturing standards (AS9100 or ISO9001)

    Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620)What we offer:
    All our positions offer a compensation package that includes equity and robust benefits.

    Base pay is a single component of Astranis's total rewards package, which may also include equity in the form of incentive stock options, high quality company-subsidized healthcare, disability and life insurance benefits, flexible PTO, 401(K) retirement, and free on-site catered meals.

    Astranis pay ranges are informed and defined through professional-grade salary surveys and compensation data sources.

    The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, and the level and scope of the position.
