- Regularly patrol the interior and exterior areas of the building.
- Supervise the entrance and exit of residents by managing a sign-in log and requesting identification.
- Implement and uphold rules and regulations.
- Create incident reports or maintenance tickets for unsafe or hazardous conditions.
- Understand the fire safety plan and evacuation protocols, and participate in fire drills.
- Stay prepared to handle hazardous situations within the facility.
- Respond to incidents and provide assistance during emergencies within the building.
- Remain vigilant at your assigned post, which may involve prolonged periods of standing.
- Offer support during building emergencies (e.g., snow clearance, spill cleanup).
- Occasional mandatory overtime, including the possibility of working a full double shift.
- Hold a valid NYS Security Guard License.
- Possess a current 8-hour certificate.
- Have a 16-hour certificate.
- Fire Guard (F-2) or Fire Safety Coordinator license is a bonus.

We are thrilled to welcome a dedicated and skilled Safety Aide to be part of our team at Homes for the Homeless (HFH). Our organization is in need of an experienced Safety Aide to join our Families w/ Children facility in the vibrant Bronx, NY. As a Safety Aide, you will be a crucial member of our team, working alongside the security department and collaborating with other units to ensure the safety and well-being of the families under our care. Homes for the Homeless manages shelters for families facing homelessness in bustling NYC. Our family residences go beyond offering just shelter; they provide access to a variety of onsite programs.
