As the Weld Shop Manager at Galaxy Technologies you will play a crucial role in managing day-to-day operations and ensuring compliance with customer and industry standards. You'll be at the forefront of innovation, driving excellence in fabrication processes and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpretation and Compliance: Interpret customer and AWS codes, processes, and procedures for the shop floor and Build Team. Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulations.
Planning and Coordination: Assist in planning and coordinating fabrication activities within the Build Team, ensuring efficient workflows and timely project completion.
Training and Certification: Organize and conduct training sessions, maintain weld certifications, and contribute to the development of the Welder Grade Scale to elevate team skills and capabilities.
Technical Expertise: Demonstrate advanced skills in interpreting aerospace drawings and specifications. Operate various fabrication equipment, precision measurement tools, and hand tools with precision and efficiency.
Quality Assurance: Perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) including Dye Penetrant and Magnetic Particle testing. Maintain CWI accreditation and perform CWI level inspection as required.
Communication and Collaboration: Liaise with upper management on rework specifications and deadlines. Utilize ERP systems for scheduling and communication purposes. Foster a culture of safety and efficiency through effective communication and training.
Problem Solving: Evaluate and address issues promptly, determining cost-effective solutions to minimize downtime and ensure optimal workflow.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to team meetings and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Promote a positive, team-oriented environment and encourage best practices.
