    POSITION SUMMARY

    Zachry is seeking experienced WorkFacePlanners for the Venture Global's Plaquemines LNG construction project located in Port Sulphur, LA to facilitate the scoping, creation, and management of Installation Work Packages (IWPs) over the course of the project. WorkFace Planners are assigned to specific crafts and/or areas to provide consistency in planning and alignment throughout the entire project. WFP's are full-time on-site personnel whose responsibilities center around the effective planning, coordination, and constraint removal for on-site construction activities inclusive of aligning craft/area specific WorkFace planning teams. Working closely with Superintendents, WFP's will consider the Engineering, Planning, Procurement, Execution, Safety, Quality and Commissioning requirements for their assigned scope of work to ensure that construction activities may be completed in a safe, efficient, and productive manner.

    Responsibilities

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    Each WorkFace Planner is responsible for the timely scoping, development, and tracking of IWPs that are necessary for execution of their respective discipline or area of assignment. Reporting directly to the AWP Coordinator, WFP's will be responsible for the following:

    Project Planning:
    • Participate in construction strategy meetings and provide input into execution plans and area-based sequencing
    • Work closely with WFP's from other disciplines to promote discipline alignment including safety and shared resources (equipment, scaffolding, etc.), as well as to ensure that planning efforts, execution sequences, are logical and well-coordinated
    • Facilitate resource planning conversations to ensure proper staffing is provided to meet the plan
    • Consideration and preserve the Path of Construction in planning efforts and activities
    • Review engineering design deliverables to ensure the potential for safe and effective scope execution and properly communicate deficiencies to AWP Coordinators
    • Coordinate with Project Controls to provide input into and validation of Level 4 Schedule development and execution sequencing
    • Attend and contribute to weekly War Rooms in assistance to field supervision
    • With the support of Superintendents, assess and break down Construction Work Packages (CWPs) into IWPs that allow effective, safe and constraint-free scope execution
      • IWPs are generated 90 days from the planned date of execution
    • Develop and facilitate coordination sessions with craft supervision to review IWP scoping, IWP releases, and IWP close-out to ensure that IWPs consider field conditions, discipline standards or limitations and other trade perspectives as required
    • Identify and Develop IWPs that are useful and effective tools for Foreman to execute specific scopes of work efficiently and effectively in the field. This includes all relevant documents, data, and drawings that are required to execute the work
    • Identify, manage, and mitigate craft/area specific constraints associated with assigned craft/area
    • Collaborate with other project departments to obtain input and data required to develop the IWPs
    • Identify design concerns and submit Requests for Information (RFIs), as necessary.
      • WFP's may delegate RFI generation as required
    • Identify lessons learned and record in the project lessons learned log
    • Discuss with Project Controls / Change Management the potential of change orders due to RFIs
    Work Package Development and Implementation
    • Handover /receive EWPs; review thoroughly and provide comments to AWP Coordinator
    • Develop CWPs including all required content
    • Coach and mentor Planners throughout their project tenure
    • Audit the production of IWPs; provide constructive feedback as required and ensure planning remains consistent throughout a specific craft/area
    • Ensure that IWPs are released, tracked, and closed-out in alignment with AWP program requirements that supports the Path of Construction throughout a specific craft/area
    Progress and Reporting
    • Complete quantity surveys, monitor, and update construction progress through WorkFace audits
    • In coordination with Quality, close out IWPs when complete
    • Ensure progress reported is accurate
    • Provide IWP completion updates to the Project Controls team.
    Qualifications

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    WorkFace Planners require a specialized skillset to be effective in their role. These individuals must not only have substantial construction experience but must also be able to respond to rapid change, problem-solve, and leverage technology to improve execution performance potential and alignment of specific crafts and/or areas of the project. The following qualifications are required of WorkFace Planners:

    Education and Experience
    • Engineering degree + 5 years of site-based construction experience
    • Engineering diploma + 5 years of site-based construction experience
    • Construction Craft Trade Professional + 2 years of supervisory experience (General Foreman, Superintendent)
    Knowledge Areas
    • Proficient expertise in specific craft/trade
    • Understanding of resource requirements
    • Understanding of methods of construction and industry best practices
      • Broad understanding of general industry construction methods
      • Specialized understanding of single or multiple construction disciplines (civil, structural, electrical, etc.)
    • Understanding of project controls practices and procedures
    • Understanding of industry and jurisdictional safety requirements and legislation
    Technical Skills
    • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
    • Reading, interpreting, and providing logic and logic updates to project schedules
    • Reading and interpreting quality documentation including Inspection and Test Plans, torque sheets, weld mapping, etc.
    • Technical writing
    • Interpreting and communicating project procedures by applying requirements to planning workflows and package development
    • Ability to identify construction execution risks and propose mitigation strategies
    • Ability to identify execution constraints and resolve as required
    • Ability to use Microsoft Office applications

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat and software systems. Position will include visits to maintenance sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and work boots.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Employee will work in multiple environments including an office, warehouse and in a trailer or building on sites. On work sites noise levels will be moderate to high. Job site will contain: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling and talking, bells whistles and alarms.
