    St. John's School, a leading coeducational independent K-12 institution located in Houston, Texas, is in search of an energetic individual to lead its Varsity Boys Basketball program for the school year. The ideal candidate will serve as the head varsity coach and provide guidance, supervision, and organization for the entire Boys Basketball program, spanning Junior Varsity and Middle School levels. Preference will be given to candidates with prior head coaching experience at the independent school level and a background in collegiate or professional-level play. Demonstrating the utmost professionalism, leadership, and sportsmanship is paramount for this role.

    In addition to your duties as the Head Basketball Coach, you will also be responsible for teaching Physical Education classes alongside coaching duties during the fall and spring seasons. Applicants should possess a genuine passion for working with student-athletes across various age groups and a dedication to fostering holistic development with a student-centered educational approach. The selected candidate will report directly to the Director of Athletics. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with the individual's experience and qualifications.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required; Master's degree preferred
    • Minimum of five (5) years of coaching experience; Head coaching experience preferred
    • Physical Education or teaching background preferred
    • Proven experience developing basketball programs and cultivating lasting relationships with players
    • Experience leading/coordinating a team of coaches
    • Proven organizational, management, and motivational skills
