    Summary

    The Storefront Estimator interprets storefront aluminum project scopes as set forth within contract documents i.e. plans, specifications, addenda, and other related information concerning an individual construction project. Uses computer technology and mathematical skills in the formation of the estimate. Submits estimate to client and assists with follow up procedures to close work.

    Essential Functions

    • Works directly with Salesperson/Contractor including the hard bid processes
    • Reviews scope of work with General Contractor and/or Project Manager's prebid
    • Performs labor cost interpretation based on scope of work
    • Receives constructing plans, drawings and specifications and reviews for familiarization; checks for completeness; notes bid deadlines and any special requirements
    • Organizes approach to project by deciding how to separate portions of major projects into varying scopes, etc.; notes project construction schedules, if applicable
    • Interprets construction specifications; where necessary, discusses interpretations with C&B salesperson, customers or the architect
    • Reads building plans and identifies applicable portions with C&B involvement
    • Summarizes Storefront portion of plans by type
    • Reviews actual vs. estimated materials on completion of each project
    • Enters applicable information in to C&B systems and prices job based on computer cost files
    • Responsible for complete storefront take offs
    • Responsible for costing all parts and scope of work
    • All other relative duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications

    • 2 or 4 year degree in Engineering or related area preferred, or 5+ years of job related experience
    • 3-5 years of related experience in similar construction or building material industry
    • Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Experience working in AutoCAD or similar program preferred
    • Experience working in Bluebeam preferred
    • Special skills required Blue print/plan reading
    • Specification interpretation
    • Microsoft office complete
    • Knowledge of storefront aluminum, Division 8 or related fields preferred.
    • Must have excellent oral communication skills and positive interpersonal skills.
    • Detail oriented, deadline conscience, goal driven
    • Ability to handle all types of scopes of projects
    • Accurate mathematical skills

    Work Environment

    This job operates primarily in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. May occasionally require business travel.
