    is seeking a Business Analyst to provide high-level and detailed elicitation, definition, documentation, traceability, and management of requirements for web, mobile, and data software systems supporting various federal, commercial, and other customers throughout the lifecycle of an application development project.

    This position is full-time remote and may require travel (-10%).

    Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    Perform cross-functional project activities that include gathering input and acceptance criteria from customers, product owners, and SMEs to develop user stories to establish the product vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
    Observe and document business processes, working directly with end users to understand workflows, actors, and related artifacts
    Work with multiple customers and other stakeholders to determine application requirements, from concept through maintenance
    Analyze stakeholder input to infer additional requirements beyond those explicitly stated
    Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language
    Create visual guides (wireframes, charts, diagrams, spreadsheets, etc.) to enhance requirements documentation
    Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
    Act as internal product owner as needed
    Interact with the technical team and draft SDLC documents
    Elicit and document requirements using document analysis, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
    Generate reports, merge data, and reconcile data
    Filter and clean data by reviewing system reports, MS Excel spreadsheets, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
    Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports
    Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
    Record requirements through a formal, logical process to provide appropriate specifications to developers, which satisfy the customer's business processes
    Create training material including training videos and conduct training sessions
    Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
    Collaborate with members of the Development and Quality Control teams to work towards a common understanding of requirements completeness
    Host and/or facilitate briefings, steering committees, and demonstrations as necessary and document meeting notes
    Generate system interface requirements and specifications for automated data exchange with external applications
    Conduct research and document findings relating to future development alternatives and enhanced system features
    Analyz help desk issues and assist end-users in successfully closing tickets
    Perform and assist in internal testing activities as required by the project
    Additional tasks as required

    Required Skills

    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT Systems, Engineering or another technical field, or related major. 4 years of Information Technology (IT) experience is considered equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree
    2+ years of relevant experience as Business Analyst
    Experience with Microsoft Office products, such as SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and report/data analysis experience using Microsoft Excel a MUST
    Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
    Experience with formal requirements and work management software such as Jira and Confluence
    Ability to organize and execute requirements work for multiple simultaneous projects
    Ability to quickly understand and effectively communicate application-related requirements
    Ability to apply formal procedures (requirements, verification, QA, other high-level processes) through all stages of application development
    Knowledge of system design techniques, including functional specifications, testing procedures/documentation, etc.
    Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC) and methodologies
    Ability to work without direct supervision and in a team environment
    Excellent oral and written communication skills
    Must hold or be able to pass a Federal Background investigation to obtain a T1 (also known as Public Trust or NACI)

    Desired Skills

    Experience working with the Bureau of Indian Affairs and FMS and related systems
    Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud
    Proficiency in T-SQL query construction/optimization
