    Specialist of Risk Management - MERCYONE (Genesis)

    Specialist of Risk Management

    Reports To: RHM Director of Accreditation and Risk Management


    The Specialist of Risk Management at MERCYONE plays a vital role in assisting with the development, implementation, and oversight of strategies to identify and mitigate risks, safeguard customers, and protect ministry assets.


    • Manage insurance coverage and risk financing
    • Handle claims and collaborate with legal counsel
    • Analyze and report on risk management data
    • Ensure compliance with safety standards

    This position involves working closely with local leadership to ensure the successful execution of risk management plans and programs. The Specialist is responsible for maintaining awareness of relevant laws and regulations and upholding ethical standards within the organization.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Identifying and reducing risks
    • Conducting risk surveys and inspections
    • Participating in root cause analyses
    • Facilitating education programs
    • Engaging in risk reduction activities

    The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in nursing, health administration, or a related field, with a preference for a Master's degree. Certification in Healthcare Risk Management is required or must be obtained within 3 years of hire.


    Experience in risk management, performance improvement, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite are desirable. The ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences is essential.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in related field (Master's preferred)
    • Certification in Healthcare Risk Management
    • Experience in risk management and performance improvement
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Excellent presentation skills
