- Performs assorted patient care responsibilities for adults, including starting IV's, EKG monitoring, cardiac outputs, and prepping and draping patients Assists with cardiovascular invasive procedures such as; R & L heart catheterizations, PTCA, intra-aortic balloon pump, permanent/temporary pacemakers, electrophysiology studies, pericardiocentesis, etc.
- Performs quality control functions of the X-ray console/equipment before procedures. Runs tapes, videodisc and 35mm film and processes all films. Prepares all the equipment, sets up the field for all cases and breaks down all equipment after the cath. Cleans room for next procedure.
- Assists physician during the procedure. Removes arterial and venous sheaths from patient after procedure.
- Records and interprets hemodynamic data using Marquette monitors Participates in the orientation, training and in-services for cardiovascular technologists and other staff in the department
- Assists with the inventory, ordering and stocking of supplies and equipment for the Cath Lab. Exemplifies Guest and Staff Relations standards in all activities.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of six months as a Cardiovascular Technologist.
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), or Registered Cardiovasc Technician (RCVT), or Practical Radiology Technician (PRT).
- Appropriate IV insertion and EKG training
- Additional cardiology exposure or similar/related job experience preferred.
- Bachelor's of Science preferred.
